How to Condition Your Hair With Aloe Vera

Aloe vera plants contain a thick sap that offers deep conditioning benefits. Because of this, this gel is a good natural conditioning agent for hair. The book "Naturally Healthy Hair" points out that aloe vera gel also has antibacterial properties that can treat scalp issues such as dandruff. Aloe vera is generally quite mild, but you may want to test a small amount on your scalp before doing a full treatment. Allergic reactions are rare, but can happen with very sensitive skin.

Step 1

Grip a leaf on the aloe vera plant and slice through it with a sharp knife where the leaf meets the stem. Squeeze the gel from inside the leaf into your palm.

Step 2

Rub your hands together to evenly distribute the aloe vera gel. Apply the gel to your dry hair, starting at the scalp and working down to the tips of your locks.

Step 3

Wrap your hair in a clean, dry towel and let the treatment sink in for about 30 minutes.

Step 4

Wet down your hair with warm water and shampoo it as usual to remove the aloe vera gel from your locks. A conditioner should be unnecessary.

Step 5

Repeat the aloe vera conditioning treatment once weekly to keep your locks shiny, supple and moisturized.

Herbs Support Hair Growth - Add Them For Quick Results

If you want to see more hair growing on your head faster, then you should definitely take a look at what herbs can do for you. You see, herbs are considered to be nature's healing ingredients for the human body. It makes sense for hair loss sufferers to include these into their daily life as well.
There are several of them that are known to help boost the way your hair grows if you consume them regularly.
Saw Palmetto Extract
One of the most interesting things about saw palmetto isn't that it helps to keep the prostate gland in men healthy, but it is also a very excellent herb for preventing male pattern baldness. What it does is block a hormone called dihydrotestosterone from forming in your body.
As you can tell from the name of that hormone, it has a lot to do with the hormone testosterone in the male body. It's formed from an excess of it and can really start to make you lose hair rapidly. What it does is bind itself to all healthy hair follicle cells in your scalp.
If you don't do something about it you can expect much of the hair on your head to fall out fast. So be sure you're taking saw palmetto daily as part of a dietary supplement routine.
Green Tea
Often times we don't think of green tea as being an herb, but it certainly is one of them. It's on the list with various other herbs for improving the way your hair grows. Drinking four cups of it daily will work much like saw palmetto, but it does something that saw palmetto will not do.
Green tea not only blocks hormones that cause hair loss, but it also will make your hair grow back faster due to various chemicals catechins that are found in it. If you do not like the way green tea tastes you can still get the benefits of this herb just by popping green tea capsules.

What Is the Most Effective Ayurvedic Treatment for Hair Loss?

In Ayurveda a traditional form of Indian medicine, Bhringaraj is a powerful natural herb with many uses. The plant is comes from has the scientific name Eclipta Prostrata or Eclipta Alba and it is found throughout India, China, Thailand and as far away as Brazil. Bhringaraj has featured amongst the Ayurvedic herbs for hair for millennia.
The Effect of Ayurvedic Herbs on Hair
When it comes to dealing with premature greying, hair loss and a general lack of health to your hair, an herbal hair oil is an excellent solution. There are many claims about the effectiveness or otherwise of alternative medicines but few have stood up to actual rigorous scientific analysis.
Bhringaraj has passed the tests modern science has thrown at it.
In 1955 the first widely reported scientific studies into the effects of bhringaraj as a herbal hair oil were conducted. Reports by Chopra et al. Showed Bhringraj (which is also widely known as False Daisy) improves both the colour of hair, restoring lost colour in those who are going grey, and also works to speed up hair growth. Similar tests conducted in 1975 by Kritikar and Basu reported the same.
A study in 2009 into the effectiveness of ayurevedic herbs for hair loss treatment found that Bhringraj was more effective than other treatments on the market. The study demonstrated the bhringaraj treatment prduced close to 160% regrowth in areas affected by hair loss through means such as traction alopecia, compared to the most popular remedies.
How to use Bhringaraj Oil for Hair
Bhringaraj is taken in many forms for treating different ailments. In the case of hair loss or greying, the plant extracts must be turned into an oil. This is then massaged into the hair and allowed to work its way into either the length of the hair strand, in the case of greying hair, or into the scalp, to treat hair loss.
The massaging process is not only to ensure an even distribution of the herbal hair oil. It also helps to stimulate blood flow in the scalp, which is important for maintaining a healthy flow of blood to the hair follicles. Scalp massaging is a good way to improve hair health on its own, but when combined with ayurevedic herbs for hair restoration the effect is boosted.
This boost reduces the waiting time for hair regrowth to begin, making bhringaraj one of the most effective treatments available today. Bhringaraj extends the length of time hair follicles remain in the anagenic (active growing) phase of the growth cycle, too. In the 2009 study into the herb's effectiveness, far more follicles were found to be in the growing phase when treated with bhringaraj than with minoxidil, the popular alternative treatment.
How Long Should I Use Bhringaraj For?
Treatment times vary depending on the extent of the condition you are trying to treat, and your own personal circumstances. Someone with a strong immune system but extensive hair loss, for example, will find they take longer to heal than a person with a comparatively weaker immune response but less overall damage.
As a result, it is not possible to state for certain how long a person will have to use bhringaraj oil for hair before they achieve the best results possible. Natural healing times for hair loss range from months to years but this herbal remedy significantly reduces that.
You can therefore expect to see results within the first month or so, on average. Everything after that is determined by your own situation. It is advisable to keep up a routine of using the herbal hair oil on a regular basis for at least three months, after which you will be able to get an idea of the length of healing time you can expect.
For restoring lost colour to your hair, the waiting time is of course far shorter. Bhringaraj has been used to revitalize grey hair for millennia and it got a reputation as a powerful rejuvenation agent because it works quickly. Expect good results within days of regular use.
Ayurvedic herbs for hair loss treatment and the restoration of colour are not just a fad like many alternative therapies. They are time-honoured treatments with thousands of years of use behind them. The restorative properties of bhringaraj are backed by modern scientific research so when you try these herbal hair oils, you know you are going to get the results you deserve. Bald patches and greying hair will be a thing of the past.

Herbs For Hair Regrowth - Possible Cures For Baldness?

While there isn't yet a 100% proven way to stop hair loss, there have been some great findings concerning what causes it and how to stop it.
No I'm not talking about all of those so-called "miracle cures" that come in the form of solutions and messy liquids you have to rub into your scalp morning and night. What I'm referring to are herbs for hair regrowth. Ever given them a try?
If not then you should, but first let me tell you a few things about the herbs that have been discovered to give you more hair and end baldness.
These little things act as possible cures for baldness because they affect not just your hair follicles, but your body as a whole. When it comes to warding off the effects of alopecia, you need to know that you must take care of the problem from the inside and not just on top of your head.
Many people don't realize that this is more than likely the main reason why that particular hair loss product they purchased isn't working. You see before thinning hair and bald spots manifest themselves on the outside, the problem starts from within.
Scientists have found that when testosterone is broken down in the body, it's converted into dihydrotestosterone, or DHT. DHT isn't toxic or harmful to your body in general, it's just your hair cells that catch the short end of the stick.
DHT has a passion for binding to follicle roots till they weaken and die. This is where certain herbs for hair regrowth come into play to help you out.
One of them that has been shown to block DHT is saw palmetto extract. A very cheap and powerful herb when taken in the 1,500 mg dosage per day that works wonders. Locate it in any nutrition center and start taking it daily.
There are many many more herbs for hair regrowth that anyone with any kind of hair loss condition should definitely use. What are they?

Herbs for Hair Growth for Women and Men

At some point in everybody's life you're going to experience some amount of thinning hair on your scalp. Most often individuals will have these experiences during middle-age, though it has been known that some people begin noticing hair loss as early as in their 20s. While there are many prescription and over-the-counter medicated products to combat baldness, you can also take herbs for hair growth as a more natural approach.
Specific organic substances have been proven effective in hair rejuvenation. Specific herbs for hair growth include Saw Palmetto for men and Horsetail Silica for women. Biotin, also known as Vitamin B7, along with Magnesium and Vitamin B6 are also highly effective in hair rejuvenation. Taking these substances internally through organic herbal supplements can effectively balance your hormonal levels, one of the main causes of female and male pattern baldness.
Using Horsetail Oil rubbed directly into the scalp can keep follicles healthy while at the same time stimulating hair regrowth. The massaging of the oil into the scalp also increases blood circulation to the area providing an avenue to deliver the essential nutrients necessary for hair rejuvenation.
Aloe Vera also stimulates hair growth and is a natural treatment for thinning and balding areas on your scalp as it maintains healthy blood flow. It also has antibacterial properties and by massaging it into the scalp can effectively wash away any dirt and bacteria clogging the hair follicle. By releasing the trapped toxins, chemicals, hormones, dirt and bacteria from the strand of hair and follicle it will naturally cause the stimulation needed to begin restoration and rejuvenation of hair.
Burdock has been clinically proven to prevent hair loss because of its natural ability to eliminate harmful toxins trapped in the follicles and along the base of the strands of hair. Burdock in oil form is also full of essential fatty acids (EFA's) which naturally inhibit any inflammation of the scalp, another cause of hair loss.
Chamomile when used in conjunction with all the herbs for hair growth is a natural moisturizer of hair and has the ability to help the scalp produce many of the natural oils necessary to retain moisture in hair. When used consistently, it adds a healthy glow to the strands of hair.
Starting a daily routine of taking herbs for hair growth is a positive step toward hair rejuvenation on the thinning and balding areas on your scalp. It is important for both men and women suffering from hair loss to start taking these herbs as soon as you begin to notice your missing hair. Taking a proactive stand will stimulate hair follicles before they have the time to go permanently dormant.
Check with your local health food store, or search online for high quality herbs for hair growth. Look for those that are sourced from all-natural organic substances free of any toxins, pesticides or chemicals. When you find a product that works for you, maintain vigilance of using it as directed continuously so as not to lose the hair you are fighting to keep.
